Wellness

The Southern Coastal Regional Employee Benefits Fund is once again offering member entities the opportunity to apply for a Health and Wellness Grant. For 2026, the Fund has budgeted enough resources to allow all member entities to apply, eliminating the previous first-come, first-served process.

This new approach allows the grant program to grow alongside the Fund year after year. The proposed budget for calendar year 2026 will increase to $280,000 for approved wellness projects. Any unused funds at year-end will be returned to the program’s general reserve.

Please note that all grant applications must be used exclusively to benefit employees enrolled under the entity’s medical plan. To be eligible, each entity must submit a program proposal that best meets its employees’ needs and supports the development and sustainability of a long-term wellness initiative.

The Fund has observed significant improvements in overall health outcomes directly linked to participation in wellness programs. We strongly encourage all entities to take advantage of this opportunity for the benefit of both your employees and the Fund’s continued success.

The application process goes as follows: after application submission, the Fund Program Manager will review each application for completeness of Fund goals as they relate to the guidelines. The Program Manager then forwards the reviewed applications to the Fund’s Wellness Committee with a recommendation of acceptance or denial. Once approved, the applications will be placed on the next regularly scheduled meeting for a formal vote of approval or denial. Following grant approval, expenses must be submitted using the HIF Reimbursement Voucher along with all receipts and appropriate documentation for consideration.
